Raaba/Graz, Austria, continues to grow as an international hub for advanced metrology solutions: As of October 1, 2025, Bruker Alicona, a pioneer in high-resolution optical 3D metrology, has officially become the headquarters of Bruker Austria GmbH.

This step represents a purely legal merger between Alicona Imaging GmbH and Bruker Austria. The well-established Bruker Alicona brand will remain unchanged, standing for precision, innovation, and high-quality solutions. For employees, customers, and partners worldwide, the decision sends a clear message: Raaba/Graz is gaining further importance within Bruker’s global structure.
Bruker Alicona’s journey began in Graz as a university spin-off with a bold vision: to create an optical alternative to tactile profilometry. This led to the development of the Focus-Variation technology, enabling the measurement of surface roughness and form in a single system—a breakthrough that quickly set new industry standards.
Over the years, the company has grown from a small, research-driven team into a global leader in optical 3D metrology, trusted by industries such as aerospace, automotive, medical device manufacturing, and precision engineering.
In 2018, Bruker Alicona became part of the Bruker Group, which enabled the company to scale its technologies globally while continuing to innovate from its development hub in Raaba/Graz.
