New efficiency in Reverse Engineering
New Release of tool measurement system IF-ToolPrecision
![]() |
IF-ToolPrecision is an optical high resolution tool measurement system to automatically measure shaft tools. It is optimized for the measurement of taps. It is a coordinate measurement device, surface measurement device and contour measurement system in only one system. Users measure roughness, form and contour including roundness in a vertical resolution of up to 10nm. With the latest release, the IF-ToolPrecision measures with more 3D measurement points. Users benefit from a denser and more detailed 3D visualization of their taps. This makes the measurement device to an ideal tool for Reverse Engineering. The IF-ToolPrecision is used for both, 3D digitalization of the tool and the automatic comparison with CAD data. Today, the IF-ToolPrecision enables an increased number of measurable parameters in the chamfer area, the flute and in the thread. Amongst others, these are chamfer diameter, chamfer length, chamfer relief, chamfer angle and spiral point angle. The tool measurement system was designed and developed within an industry partnership with BASS GmbH & Co. KG, a leading supplier of threading tools. “Before IF-ToolPrecision, there worldwide was no comparable system available”, states BASS. IF-ToolPrecision is an optical system from the series of tool measurement devices by Alicona. The IF-EdgeMaster is used for the measurement of inserts and hobs also in production. InfiniteFocus Real3D is used for the complete form measurement of micro tools. All measurement systems from Alicona are used to measure surface roughness including form and are based on the technology of Focus-Variation . Alicona exhibits at Euromoald: Hall 8, D156 |
