Video production about the use of InfiniteFocus

During the latest Micromachining show in Japan, 3D measurement supplier Alicona visited Makino, leading international tool manufacturer, to shoot a video about the use of the high resolution optical 3D surface measurement system InfiniteFocus. The technology of Focus-Variation supports an optimized tool usage and increased process reliability. Also, InfiniteFocus is used to verify and demonstrate quality and precision of machining performances at Makino.

Alicona´s InfiniteFocus system is a high resolution optical 3D measurement system to measure surface roughness in combination with its form. Users achieve a vertical resolution of up to 10nm also across large measurement fields and volumes. The system can be applied to any solid material as soon as there is a surface roughness of only a few nanometers. Based on the technology of Fokus-Variation, InfiniteFocus is worldwide commonly used for quality assurance in e.g. tool and mold making as well as micro precision manufacturing. The robust technology enables stable measurements in both research and production.

3d micro-coordinate measurement technique for roughness and form measurement

Alicona offers optical 3d surface measurement systems for quality assurance in research and production. Core competence is the measurement of roughness and form also across large measurement areas and volumes. The cutting edge measurement and the measurement of small radii and angles are typical applications. Focus-Variation, the core technique of the InfiniteFocus line, combines the traditional surface metrology and the micro coordinate measurement technology. This technology achieves traceable and repeatable results in highest resolution even in production.
