Measurement of the geometry of steel sheets
In addition to the required physical properties steel sheets need to have exact and customer defined dimensions.
The Plansee Group, supplier of high performance materials for innovative applications, are now confirming geometric measurement with a flexible and robust state of the art measurement station, customised by Alicona Imaging.
The system allows the automatic measurement of length, width, angle and chamfer quickly and accurately. The measurement accuracy achieved is 5 µm on samples up to 111mm x 350mm with a thickness between 0,085mm to 2mm irrespective of the type of material or surface characteristics.
The range of dimensions that can be measured without refitting the bench is from 50mm x 25mm to 1000mm x 350mm. Also, the system is easy to use with automatic loading of steel sheets via a stacking unit.
