Flexible assembly control of steering systems

Steering systems are designed modularly and assembled according to various autotypes. Flexible components such as diverse hydraulic hoses or components with specified characteristics are mounted manually. The inspection whether the mounted units are assembled correctly is an essential requirement in quality assurance. To guarantee the accurate assembly control of various types and components, a flexible and easy adaptable system needs to be implemented.


The inspection system is based on the use of high resolution cameras and leading edge image processing algorithms to automatically check whether defined mounting parts are assembled correctly according its type. The user receives the information throughout a high quality camera image where incorrectly mounted parts are marked.

The system is highly flexible. The user can easily adapt the system for the inspection of another assembly as it is required by a new type of steering system.
