Optical 3D measurement upon large components

Today, it is not only miniaturized surfaces that have very complex surfaces. Large and voluminous specimens also have specific micro and nanostructured topography that requires meaningful and accurate quality assurance. InfiniteFocusRobot is a high resolution robot mounted 3D measurement device for surface characterization upon large components. It is a perfect tool to increase process reliability as the innovative technology leads to improved production results in assembly lines.

InfintiteFocusRobot is used for the high resolution measurement of roughness, form and geometry on large components, such as engine blocks or aircraft turbines. The measurement system combines the flexible positioning of a 6-axis robot with the measurement capability of an inline capable optical sensor. Complex topographies with steep flanks and strongly varying reflective properties are repeatably measured, reaching a vertical resolution of up to 10nm. InfiniteFocusRobot is characterized by its ease of use, its visualization capabilities and comprehensive automation possibilities. The standard applications include failure analysis, variance analysis, corrosion measurement and many more.
InfiniteFocusRobot is based on Focus-Variation. Its operating principle combines the small depth of focus of an optical system with vertical scanning to provide depth and colour information of the specimen.

InfiniteFocusRobot

  • can be used as both, either as a stand-alone system or as flexible 3D measurement tool in production
  • is extremely robust even in a rough production environment
  • can be used in individual and customized assembly lines
  • offers max. positioning accuracy and reach
